Glenorchy City Council is seeking an experienced and collaborative
Visual Arts Program Officer to develop and deliver the visual arts program at Moonah Arts Centre and facilitate community cultural projects that celebrate the diversity of the Glenorchy community.
In this varied role, you will:
- Develop and deliver exhibitions, workshops, forums, education programs and school holiday activities.
- Coordinate exhibition schedules, installations, openings and the ongoing operation of exhibition spaces.
- Build relationships with artists, arts organisations, community groups and cultural partners.
- Mentor emerging artists and support community-led visual arts activities.
- Identify funding opportunities and prepare and acquit grant applications.
- Work collaboratively with the Moonah Arts Centre team to deliver inclusive and engaging arts experiences.
The successful applicant will have:
- Curatorial, gallery or exhibition-space experience.
- Knowledge of arts, cultural industries and community cultural development.
- Strong project management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and at least three years’ post-graduate arts-sector experience, or substantial demonstrated professional and lived experience.
Position: Part-time, 60 hours per fortnight
Salary: $85,570 (pro-rata) plus 15% superannuation
